OLIVE BLACK SERVICES SET

Mrs. Olive C. Black, 86, the widow of Milton E. Black, died Saturday, March 31, in Tucson, Ariz.

The daughter of John P. and Josephine Gray Dale, she was born Oct. 21, 1885, in Dow City, Iowa. In 1907 she was graduated from Iowa Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Des Moines, and was the eighth registered nurse in Iowa.

She was married to Milton E. Black June 14, 1911; the couple had two children. Mr. and Mrs. Black had made their homes in Grinnell, Mitchellville, and Indianola, where Mr. Black was a school teacher, farmer, banker and insurance agent. In 1953 they moved to Shawnee, Okla., and three years later to Tucson.

Mrs. Black was a long time member of the Methodist Church and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Tucson.

She is survived by her two children, Paul M. Black of Joliet, Ill., and Mrs. John (Josephine) Meyers of Tucson; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Sept. 27, 1959.

Graveside services for Mrs. Black will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. J. Eugene Young, minister of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Mrs. Black's remains will arrive in Grinnell late Tuesday evening, and friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home Wednesday morning, prior to the committal services.
