LULA THOMSON, 90, FUNERAL SERVICES HELD SATURDAY

Lula Sherman Thomson, 90, Grinnell, died at a local hospital Jan. 17 following an illness of several months.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Smith funeral home with the Rev. Leland Mann, minister of the First Congregational church, officiating. Interment was at Chester cemetery.

Pallbearers were Carl Child, Raymond Harris, Clarence Vogt, Donald Vogt, Grover Vogt, and Kenneth Vogt. Music was furnished by Mrs. Rhee Auman.

Born in Chester township on July 5, 1866, she was the daughter of Jason and Jeannette Wheelock Sherman. Her husband, George Thomson, preceded her in death in 1928.

She had lived in Poweshiek county all her life and had been a teacher and housewife. She was a member of the Congregational church.
