MRS. WHEELOCK, 86, EX-RESIDENT, DIES IN N.Y.; BURIAL HERE

Information of the death of Mrs. W.H. Wheelock, 86, former Grinnell resident, in Port Chester, N.Y. has been received by a niece Mrs. Elizabeth H. Gilliam of Iowa City.

Mrs. Wheelock lived for many years at 1211 Main street, Grinnell. Burial will be in the Wheelock plot in Grinnell.

The following obituary notice is from the Port Chester, N.Y., Daily Item:

Mrs. Charlotte E. Wheelock, sister of Mrs. Sarah S. Holzworth of Westchester Avenue, Port Chester, died Saturday at the Kelmar Nursing Home, Greenwich, after an extended illness. She was 86.

Born Nov. 26, 1867, in Round Hill, Greenwich, Mrs. Wheelock was the daughter of the late Col. Thomas A.Haight and Adelaide M. Purdy Haight. She was the wife of the late Willis H. Wheelock.

Prior to her recent residence with her sister in Port Chester Mrs. Wheelock lived in Grinnell, Iowa, and Pasadena, Calif. She attended St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Port Chester.

Surviving besides her sister, Mrs. Holzworth, are a brother, Joseph E. Haight of Great Falls, Mont., and several nieces and nephews.
