GRACE DALE RITES TODAY

Grace H. Dale, 94, of the Senior Home in Montezuma, formerly of Grinnell, died Friday morning in Montezuma.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Eugene L. McClure officiating. Organist was Mrs. Kathleen Heffner. Burial was at Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of Orin and Melissia Black, she was born June 19, 1882, in Grinnell. She attended rural school near her home. She was married to John P. Dale in Grinnell, and following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Dale farmed near Grinnell, Meltonville and Orient.

After her husband's death in 1933, Mrs. Dale returned to Grinnell. She was employed as a cook at the former Community Hospital until her retirement. She as a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church and was active in church circles.

Survivors include her son, Shirley Dale of Grinnell; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Belle Jacobs of California. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers and seven sisters.
