OBITUARY

ADDIE BERTHA LAGRANGE

Addie Bertha LaGrange, daughter of Judd LaGrange and Emma LaGrange, was born in Grinnell, Iowa, July 22, 1892. She was united in marriage to Samuel E. Spears on June 6, 1911, in Montezuma. They made their home in Grinnell the greater part of their married life. Six years they made their home in Des Moines and two years in San Diego, Calif.

She attended the Grinnell schools. She was a member of the United Presbyterian church and in her early childhood always attended the Sunday school classes.

She was a devoted wife and loved her home. She was a kind and loving sister and daughter and had many friends.

She was always ready and willing to give a helping hand in sickness and in times of need. After her mother's death she filled the place of mother to those that were left.

She had been in poor health for a number of years. She passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 1944, at 3:00 a.m., at the Community hospital, after two months of serious illness.

She leaves to mourn, her husband, Samuel E. Spears, her father, Mr. Judd LaGrange, and four sisters: Mrs. Millie Grubb, Mrs. Elsie Rollins and Mrs. Marjorie Lacy, all of Grinnell, also Mrs. Ruby Anderson of Des Moines, and one brother, Floyd LaGrange of Grinnell.

She will be deeply mourned by her relatives and greatly missed by her many friends.

Funeral services were held from Smith's Funeral Home Friday afternoon, with Rev. Wm. Welsh officiating. Interment was at Hazelwood cemetery.
