JACOB TERABERRY WAS A PIONEER

Jacob, son of Frederick and Elizabeth (Lindaberry) Teraberry, was born Oct. 25, 1844, on a farm near Clinton, New Jersey, one of eleven children. All have preceded him in death with the exception of one sister, Mrs. Mary Cramer of High Bridge, New Jersey.

When a young man he came west with his parents, settling on a farm near Princeton, Ill. There he married Sarah Leonora Judd on Nov. 30, 1870.

In the spring of 1872 they moved to the farm in Poweshiek county, Iowa, and began housekeeping in the very room in which he passed away sixty-one years later, Sept. 5, 1933.

Mr. Teraberry took an active part in community affairs.

Two sons were born to Mr. and Mrs. Teraberry, one, Fredercik Judd, who was killed when a student in the Brooklyn high school at the age of sixteen.

Mr. Teraberry is survived by his wife and son, Glen Earl, and five grandsons, Doanld, Max, Glen, Jr., Richard and Philip, and one sister.

Mr. and Mrs. Teraberry opened their home at different times to three girls to whom they gave home, care and opportunities for education.

They passed their golden wedding day Nov. 30, 1920, very quietly.

Through sixty-three years together they have shared the joys and sorrows that have fallen to their lot. The companionship of these two people has been truly beautiful.

Grandpa will be missed by all who knew him for his genial ways and pleasant smile.

He truly enjoyed life and was loathe to leave his loved ones.
