MRS. SARAH L. TERABERRY DIES

Sarah Leonora Judd, daughter of Eli Peters Judd and Sarah (Rearick) Judd, was born March 19, 1850, near Buffalo, New York, and passed away Dec. 2, 1933, at 2 o'clock a.m. at the home of her sister, Mrs. Minerva Carpenter, where she had been visiting the past five weeks. The two sisters both were ill with pneumonia, becoming ill on the same day about one hour apart. She was ill just six days.

When a small child she came with her parents to Princeton, Ill.

She received her early education in the rural school near home. She attended school one year in Burlington, Wis., living in the home of an uncle. She also attended Dover Academy, the Princeton high school and the normal school at Dover, Ill., preparing herself for teaching.

She taught in country school.

She was married at the home of her parents, Nov. 30, 1870, to Jacob Teraberry, formerly of New Jersey.

After one year of farming in Illinois, they moved to a farm six miles north of Malcom, Iowa, which they occupied and enjoyed for thirty-six years. In 1908 they moved to Malcom, Iowa where they bought a home. They lived there until the fall of 1931, when they moved back to the farm to spend their remaining years with their son, Glen, and his family. There on Sept. 5, 1933, Grandpa died, preceding her in death twelve weeks.

Mr. and Mrs. Teraberry were the parents of two sons. The eldest, Frederick, was accidentally killed when a lad of sixteen, being away from home at the time attending the Brooklyn high school. He was struck by a train. She is survived by her son, Glen, and five grandsons, Donald, Max, Glen junior, Richard, and Philip; also by two brothers, Douglas Judd of Brooklyn, Iowa, Mark Judd of Malcom, and one sister, Mrs. Minerva Carpenter.

Mrs. Teraberry had on three occasions, taken a motherless girl into her home, giving them an education and a mother's care. The after lives of these three girls testify as to their appreciation and their improvement because of these privileges.

She was a member of the Madison Christian church which she attended regularly while living in the country. Later she affiliated with the Presbyterian church in Malcom where she was an active member of the Missionary Society and the Ladies' Aid.

Grandma will be greatly missed for her gentle influence, her patience, and her strong Christian faith.
