OBITUARY NOTICE OF HENRY N. ROBB

Henry Nathan Robb was born in Windham, Johnson county, Iowa, on June 10, 1856, and passed away at his home in Malcom at 4:30 on the morning of June 13, 1934, at the age of 78 years and two days. At the age of two he moved with his parents to a farm near Geneseo, Ill. There he grew to manhood, receiving his education in the rural schools. In 1879 he came to Orient, Adair county, Iowa, where he farmed. Here he was married to Alice M. Hoffstatter on *December 27, 1882. To this unon were born five daughters, four of whom survive the deceased father. The youngest died in infancy.

Mr. Robb spent his whole life as a farmer in Iowa, with the exception of three and a fourth years spent in farming in North Dakota. In 1906 Mr. Robb came with his family to a farm five miles south of Malcom, where they lived until 1914, when they moved to their present home.

On *November 27, 1932, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in their home with their children, grandchildren and friends.

He was a man who enjoyed reading and visiting with his friends. About four years ago these pleasantries were denied him because of the fact of failing health. He was doubly afflicted by being partially blind and almost totally deaf.

On the Saturday before his death, he was able to walk down town, and on Monday walked over the fields. Early Tuesday morning his wife was disturbed by him moving about in his room and upon investigation a little later, found him resting again. As she stood by his bedside he recongized her, then quietly passed away.

He leaves to mourn his death his beloved wife; four daughters, Mrs. R. Carpenter of Deep River, Mrs. L.F. Zirbel of Malcom, Mrs. R.J. Stephen of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. M.A. Brewer of Malcom; four grandchildren, and two brohters, W.O. Robb of Los Gatos, Calif., and Simon Robb of Malcom.

Funeral services were held from the home Thursday afternoon at 2:30. Burial was made in Ivy Hill cemetery.
