HENRY DAY FUENRAL WILL BE WEDNESDAY

Henry H. Day, who has made his home in Grinnell ever since 1870, passed away Sunday afternoon at the home of his son, Frank Day, 612 Prairie street following an illness of several days.

Funeral services will be held from the United Presbyterian church Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock.

Mr. Day served four years in the Union army during the Civil War, enlisting on his twenty-first birthday, Nov. 12, 1861, in a New Hampshire regiment. In 1872 he was married to Susie Foote at Grinnell and after her death was united in marriage with Kate Stockton of Ladora.

Mr. Day was a tinner by trade and for several years worked for S.H. Herrick in the hardware store. He was located later in Kellogg, for thirty years and in 1910 he went to Idaho, returning to Kellogg in 1920. In 1923 he came to Grinnell and has since made his home here with his son.

He leaves three children by his first wife, Frank, of Grinnell, Mrs. Sam Birchard of Turner, and Mrs. E.L. Pringle of Shreveport, La., and one son, Herbert, of Idaho, by his second wife.

Mr. Day was a member of the Blue Lodge and Knight Templars, of Kellogg, and was known as a good man, a kind father and a highly useful citizen.

MASONS ATTENTION.

The Kellogg Masons will have charge of the funeral at the grave of Henry Day Wednesday at 3 P.M.

They have asked the Grinnell Masonic Brethren to join with them.

It is my Order that as many members of Hermon Lodge No. 273 as can, meet at the hall form 2:00 to 2:30 to join with our Kellogg Brethren in paying our tribute to the departed Brother.
