ADAM GOEBEL, DEEP RIVER TWP'S OLEST CITIZEN, DEAD

Adam Goebel, Deep River township's oldest citizen, was born April 4, 1832, at Wachenheim, An-Dar-Hart, Germany, and died of a complication of diseases at 12:30 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 9, 1913, aged 81 years, 7 months and 5 days.

Few men were better known in Deep River township than Adam Goebel. Large hearted, a sunny disposition, always ready with a cheerful word, full of life and good cheer, he easily won his way to the hearts of all and retained their respect and esteem to the end. The large attendance at the funeral exercises was a splendid testimonial to the life and character of Father Goebel to whom all desired to pay their last tribute of respect.
