RITES FOR ALBERT GOTT HELD JULY 18

Albert Sherman Gott, son of Thomas and Martha Gott, was born June 12, 1865, near Union Mills, Ia., where he grew to young manhood, and departed this life peacefuly, after a lingering illness of eight months, which he bore patiently and always cheerful thinking of the welfare of his family more than himself, at his home near Deep River, July 16, 1930, age being 65 years, 1 month, and 4 days.

In 1888 he was united in marriage to Anna McClure, and to this union three children were born, Lela, now Mrs. Edmund Morrison, of Deep River, Glen of Ollie, Iowa, and Nita, dying in infancy.

In the year of 1893 his wife departed this life, and in 1903 he was again united in marriage to Louwillie Austin Wright, of Barnes City, and one child came to bless this home, Beulah Faye.

"Sherd" as he was familiarly know, was a loving husband, kind father, and always strong in his convictions for what he thought was right, and always willing to lend a helping hand. And it is needless to say, he had the entire respect of the different neighborhoods in which he lived as signified by the concourse of friends gathered to pay respect to the departed.

When a young man he joined the Masonic order at Barnes City.

He leaves to mourn, his devoted wife, three children, Mrs. Edmund Morrison, Glen and Beulah, at home; five step-children, Harry Wright of St. Ansgar, Frank Wright of Webster, Mrs. Chas. Baird of Montezuma, Mrs. Chas. Brock of Webster, and Earl Wright at home; six grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren; one sister, Alice; two brothers, I.N. and Willis, all of Barnes City, besides many other relatives and friends.

The funeral was held Friday, July 18, 1930, at 2:30 p.m. at the Christian church at Barnes City, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Harold Bentley, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Barnes City cemetery, beneath many floral offerings. The pall bearers were Fred Ehret, Willimar Snakenburg, Harvey Paull, Sid Yearian, Eli Horn, and Wm. Synhorst.--Montezuma Republican.
