MRS. H.L. MARSH DEAD.

Grinnell friends of the Marsh family will be saddened to know of the death of Mrs. H.L. Marsh.

The Wichita (Kas.) Eagle says:

"Mrs. Mary E. Marsh, wife of Rev. H.L. Marsh of Wichita, Kas., died June 20 in a Chicago hospital, where she had gone about a month ago for an operation. The immediate cause of death was heart trouble. Mrs. Marsh was 55 years of age and had resided with her husband in Wichita about eight years. Besides the husband, she is survived by eight children, five sons and three daughters--as follows: William, Glenn, and Eugene of Wichita, Fred of Folger, Colo., and Paul of El Dorado, Kas., Miss Ethel L. Marsh of Chicago, Mrs. H.C. Jones of Wichita, and Miss Edna Marsh of El Dorado. The body was brought to Wichita for burial, where a funeral service was held Friday, June 23, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Clayton B. Wells of the Congregational church."

Mr. Marsh graduated from college in 1882. He was the unfortunate graduate of that year, who lost an eye in a little play with some young ladies with a bow and arrow, but bore the loss with Christian spirit and made the other eye do good work in preparing for the ministry, and in serving as pastor in several good towns. The loss of the other eye a few years ago compelled him to quit work. Just a short time ago a farm which he owned near El Dorado began to spout oil and nine wells have been sunk, furnishing him a source of revenue. He had been hoping much pleasure and comfort with his wife in his recent good fortune, but it was not to be. Many Grinnell friends sympathize with him at this time.

His sister, Miss Ella Marsh, has just returned from the funeral.
