OBITUARY

LARRY RICHARD GOEHRING

Larry Richard Goehring passed away April 1, 1964, at the age of 22 years and 25 days. He was born at Centerville, Iowa, on March 6, 1942. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Goehring.

The early years of his life were spent at Centerville, later moving to Grinnell, where he lived until time of death.

Larry attended Grinnell grade school and Grinnell high school. He was an active member of Boy Scout Troop 313, then entering the Explorer Scout Troop in later teens. He enoyed his scouting years very much. After school, he was employed in different jobs for the City of Grinnell. At the time of death he was with the street department.

Funeral services were held at the Smith Funeral Home on Friday, April 3, with Reverend Wayne Shireman of the First Baptist Church officiating, assisted by Reverend Donald Rich, pastor of the Assembly of God Church. The organ music was provided by Mrs. James Wilson.

The pallbearers were Raymond Moore, Perry Wilson, Hollis Phipps, Donald Crawford, Larry Willemsen and Verl Garwood. Interment was in the Hazelwood cemetery.

Survivors include his daughter, Susan Marie, age 3; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Goehring of Grinnell; three sisters, Mrs. Edward (Edamae) Metz of Keota, Iowa; Janice and Nancy of Grinnell; two brothers, Carl and Ronald Goehring of Grinnell; his grandmother, Mrs. Emme Bargmann of St. Louis, Missouri; two nieces, and a number of aunts and uncles.

Larry Richard Goehring was preceded in death by grandfather, Henry Bargmann of St. Louis, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McMahon of Centerville, Iowa.
