OBITUARY

MRS. CLIFFORD P. GERARD

Funeral services were said for Mrs. Clifford P. Gerard at the Christian church in Montezuma at 2:30 o'clcok p.m., Dec. 22, by Rev. Donald Skiles, pastor of the Assembly of God church of Grinnell, assisted by Rev. C.B. Bell, former pastor. Music was furnished by Mrs. Harold Bone and Mrs. J.L. Ravitts, with Miss Alice Underwood at the piano. Songs were "In the Garden" and "Crystal Palaces."

Pall bearers were Harold Gerard, Homer Gerard, Paul Gerard, Emil Gerard, Eddie Anderson, and Eldred Gowess.

Burial was in the Montezuma cemetery.

Margaret Sarah, daughter of George and Anna Gilbreaith, was born May 9, 1910, and departed this life Dec. 20, 1943, aged 33 years, 8 months and 11 days. She grew to womanhood in the Montezuma community and was graduated from the Montezuma high school in 1929. She was married to Clifford P. Gerard in 1929. To this union was born a daughter, Patricia Ann, who passed away at the age of 19 months. For the past eight years Clifford and Margaret have made their home in Grinnell. In September of this year Clifford was called into service, being stationed in Farragut, Idaho, where he is now a patient in the hospital and was unable to attend the funeral.

Margaret was taken suddenly ill Saturday and was taken to the hospital where everything possible was done for her but to no avail.

In her early life she became a member of the Christian church of Montezuma and was a faithful worker.

Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her loss her father, mother, one brother, Edward and wife and son, Bill, besides a host of relatives and friends.

NOTE: Clifford and Margaret had two children, both deceased when Margaret died. MH
