LAWRENCE CHRISTIANSON

Lawrence Christianson, son of Mr. and Mrs. O.B. Christianson, was born on a farm six miles southeset of Grinnell, July 19, 1896. His devout parents early dedicated him to God in baptism. His Christian manhood was the answer to the sincere prayers of that sacred service.

He grew to manhood in the country home, gladly taking his part in its work and responsibilities. He attended the school in his neighborhood and has always been one of the most loyal members of the Sunday School that meets in No. 7 schoolhouse.

On January 11, 1921, he was married to Miss Irene Cornell. At this time his father turned over to him the care of the old farm, and there the happy husband and wife began their new home. Without warning the sickness developed a week ago last Sunday which brought his life to a close last Monday morning.

Lawrence Christianson was held in the highest regard wherever he was known. He was a strong clean young man, industrious, honorable, neighborly, a fine type of the citizenship that makes a community a good place to live in, that makes the nation truly great. In the more intimate relations as a son, brother and husband he was always thoughtful, generous, loyal, the kind of man who is deeply loved, whose place cannot be filled.

He is mourned today by his father and mother, his wife Irene, his seven sisters, Mrs. Lily Alertson of Northwood, Iowa, and Mrs. Mabel Stemsrud, Mrs. Blanche Osborn, Mrs. Agnetta Iverson, Mrs. Bessie Thorson, Mrs. Irene Mackin and Viola Christianson of Grinnell, beside a large number of warm friends.

At the funeral service which was held on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. E.W. Cross spoke on "The Inspiration of Young Manhood that is Christian." Mrs. Black and Mrs. Ennis sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," "Jesus, Lover of My Soul," and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus."

Pall bearers were Raymond Pilgrim, Thomas Tone, Harvey Jensen, Milton Jensen, Arthur Oleson, Chester Figland.
