J. FRANK CLAY SERVICES TODAY

J. Frank Clay, 90, of 625 Spring St., Grinnell, died Monday, Dec. 24, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sam Reaves of the Assembly of God church officiating. Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery.

The son of James M. and Nettie Everman Clay, he was born June 22, 1889, in Appanoose County. He had lived in Grinnell for 70 years.

Mr. Clay was well known as a representative of Stark's Nursery. He had also been employed at the former George's Hardward Store here. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church, the Odd Fellows lodge, and the Grinnell Senior Citizens Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Gladys) Strovers of Grinnell and Mrs. Walter (Mildred) Smith of Williamsburg, Va.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Al (Nettie) Renard of Elgin, Ill.; and a brother, Eleazor Clay of Osakis, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mabel.
