DR. RALPH CARVER FUNERAL MONDAY AT BARNES CITY

Funeral services for Dr. Ralph Carver were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Christian church in Barnes City, conducted by Rev. Jon Job. Mrs. Wayne Pitman, accompanied by Mrs. Ed Kerwin, sang "Jesus Will Walk With Me," and "Near to the Heart of God."

Interment was in the Barnes City cemetery under direction of the Steffy Funeral Home. Casket bearers were Bert Butler, Harold Lester, Dale Carver, Paul Carver, Evan Bryan and John McClure.

Ralph, son of John and Eliza Carver, was born near Gibson April 7, 1872, and died at his home in Oklahoma City Sept. 14, at 90 years of age.

He attended rural school and graduated from Montezuma high school. He attended Grinnell college. Later he graduated and taught in the Carver School of Chiropractic, in Oklahoma City.

On Mar. 9, 1904, he was united in marriage with Bertha Evans. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1954.

After his retirement from the Chiropractic practice, he returned to Barnes City, where he worked as a painter. He was a charter member of the Barnes City Christian church which he joined in 1897.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Aimee Sollars, Peoria, Ill., and Sybil Sollars, of Oklahoma City; a son, Grant Carver, Cedar Falls, Iowa; 6 grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
