RAYMOND O. VANNOY, 83

Raymond O. Vannoy, 83, of Beacon, died Monday, May 1, 2006 at the V.A. Medical Center in Iowa City.

The body has been cremated and a memorial service was held Friday, May 5, at the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Doug Smiley officiating. Burial was in the Garrett Cemetery near Delta. Bates Funeral Chapel, Oskaloosa, was in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include three daughters; Connie Carver of Sigourney, Chris (and Don) Vaux of Ottumwa, and Cathie Landers of Oskaloosa; six grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren and three brothers and their wives, Waldo and Jene Vannoy of Montezuma, Harold and Marge Vannoy of Moline, Ill., and Bobby and Donna Vannoy of LaHavra, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Bohnenkamp.

Memorials in his name may be directed to the American Legion.
