DEATH SUMMONS DAVID F. FERSON

David Francis Ferson was born in Coals City, Illinois, October 22, 1869, the son of Joseph and Agnes Ferson. He came to Iowa with his parents who located near Ewart. On December 8, 1898 he was married to Martha L. Graham. Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Ferson, one of whom, John Henry, died in infancy. Surviving him are one daughter, Lillian of Des Moines, and three sons, Joseph R., Harry L. and Willard L. All three of the sons are now employed in the city of Chicago. Harry and Willard attended the funeral service Sunday atternoon and returned to Chicago Sunday night.

Besides his wife and children, Mr. Ferson leaves surviving him eight grandchildren, one brother Hugh Ferson of Marshalltown and one sister, Mrs. Anna M. Thompson of Valley Junction, Iowa. His brother and sister attended the services here Sunday, also his uncle, W.H. Blackstock of Los Angeles, Calif.

Mrs. Ferson, who has been employed near Palatine, Ill. for the past few months, arrived in Des Moines shortly after the death of her husband last Thursday and came to Grinnell with the funeral party from Des Moines Sunday morning.

The deceased was an active member of the Yeoman lodge. He was a local section man for many years.

Funeral services were held in Grinnell Sunday afternoon at the United Presbyterian church, Rev. J.I. Frederick in charge. He was buried beside his son in the cemetery at Searsboro. His widow, his daughter Lillian, and sons Harry and Willard were present at the services.
