MARY JANE HALL

Mary Jane Hall, daughter of Sylvester and Sarah Ann Chamberlin Otto, was born April 13, 1871, in Dayton, Michigan. She grew to young womanhood in Michigan and came to Brooklyn, Iowa, when she as 16 years old.

On March 8, 1900, she was united in marriage to Marion Francis Hall at Brooklyn. Three children were born to the home.

Mr. and Mrs. Hall made their home in Brooklyn, Iowa, until his death in 1925. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter, and her only brother.

Mrs. Hall moved to Grinnell, Iowa, in 1928, and was very active until she suffered a broken hip in 1942. She recovered sufficiently to be up and around her home area for the past 15 years.

Following a very short illness she passed away April 22, 1958, a few days past her 87th birthday, which she observed April 13. Her long life was spent in the interest of her home and family. When a very young lady she professed Christ, and with her hsuband, they united with the Church of the Brethren near Brooklyn.

She is survived by one son, Walter and one daughter, Inez, both of Grinnell; two grandsons; and five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and the friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 25th from the Bramer Funeral Home at Brooklyn. Interment was at Brooklyn.
