JAMES J. KEENAN FUNERAL SATURDAY

James Joseph Keenan was born in Rutland, Vt., March 17, 1863, and died August 22 at his home on west Fourth Avenue. He was married Sept. 30, 1903, to Mary G. Simmon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.P. Simmon, of this city.

Mr. Keenan came from Vermont at the age of four and resided in and near Grinnell until his death. He was an industrious, friendly man, who made friends easily and held them long, and he is deeply and sincerely mourned.

He is survived by his widow, three sons and one daughter, James J. Keenan, William H. Keenan, M. Leo Keenan, and Mrs. C.M. Dusterhoft of Victor; also by four brothers, Thomas Keenan of Grinnell, Dr. F.E. Keenan of Great Falls, Mont., Maurice, of Portland, Ore., and William of San Diego, and by one sister, Mrs. John Hayes of San Diego, Calif.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning from St. Mary's church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Father M.J. Hannon. Pall bearers were Warder H. Stoaks, F.F. Clindinin, Martin Flanagan, Paul Norris, Emery Schmitz, and Edward Comerford. Burial was in Hazelwood.
