DEATH OF SUSAN D. FIELDS

Susan D. Fields was born in Morrow Co. Ohio, May 5, 1852, and departed this life Oct. 30, 1909, aged 67 years, 5 months and 25 days. She was united in marriage to Barney Fields Oct. 28, 1860. To this union were born four children, two sons and two daughters. She leaves a husband, four children, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren to mourn their loss, but their loss is her eternal gain. She united with the Christian church thirty years ago and lived a consistant christian until the close of this life, then she went home to rest. She was a true companion, a good mother and a friend in time of need. "The Mother, in her office, holds the key of the soul, and she it is who stamps the coin of Character, and makes the being who would be a savage, but for her gentle cares, a christian man. Then crown her the Queen of the world." Funeral was preached at the Christian church by Rev. S.L. Beougher from text:

"Let me die the death of the righteous and let my last end be like his." Interment in the Shaum cemetery five miles north of Wakarusa.
