FRIEDA E. GERARD, daughter of John and Maggie James McCormick, was born on October 6, 1908 in Poweshiek County Iowa and passed away on June 22, 1984 at Pleasant Park Nursing Home in Oskaloosa, Iowa at 75 years of age.

She graduated from Montezuma High School. On February 8, 1928 she was united in marriage with Homer Gerard near Montezuma. After their marriage they farmed north of Montezuma. In 1948 they moved to Oskaloosa. In 1963 they returned to their farm near Montezuma. Since 1958 they have spent their winters in Texas. Frieda enjoyed being outdoors and loved to fish. She was a member of the Oskaloosa Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ralph McCormick.

Frieda is survived by her husband, Homer of Rt. 2, Montezuma; two sons and their wives: Carroll L. and Betty Gerard of Grinnell and Keith L. and Sharon Gerard of Bothell, Washington; 5 grandchildren: Deborah A. Fifer, Angela K. Edgington, Byron Gerard, Cherie Gerard and Recinda Gerard; 2 great grandchildren: Cameron and Ashlee Fifer. Other relatives, friends and neighbors.

Relatives and friends are invited to the First Baptist Church, 5th and East in Grinnell, for a time of fellowship and lunch with the family following the committal service.

NOTE: Interment was at Pleasant Township Cemetery, Ewart, Poweshiek Co. Iowa.
