PEGGY SADLER, 79

Peggy Sadler, 79, of Grinnell, died on Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at the Mayflower Home Health Care Center.

Her funeral service was held Saturday, March 10, at the Carman Center of the Mayflower Home with the Rev. Susan Leathem, Grinnell Regional Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Burial was at Hazelwood Cemetery, Grinnell.

Pallbearers were Shawn Eyestone, Jonathan, Justin, Joshua, and Jacob Sadler, and Kent Winburn.

Honorary bearers were Dawn and Mari Eyestone, Tammy Winburn and Nicole, Heather, and Jessica Sadler.

Pianist was Pat Saxton adn Bill Surburg was the vocalist.

The daughter of Ora and Nellie Boucher Williams, she was born Nov. 25, 1927, at Pocahontas. When she was about two years of age, she spent a short time in a juvenile home in Toledo, due to the Depression, and was then adopted by Lon and Luda Maxon Lisk. She was raised in Grinnell and received her education at the Grinnell School District. After her education she was employed at the Grinnell Shoe Factory for several years.

Peg was married to Robert Sadler at Franklin, Ky., and the couple lived in Grinnell. For many years, she was a self-employed seamstress and dressmaker and had made costumes for the Community Theatre and Grinnell Singers. She moved to the Mayflower Home in August of 2006.

Survivors include one daugher, Deb Eyestone of Des Moines; three sons, Wayne, Lon and Tracy Sadler, all of Grinnell; one sister, Marjorie Hulsizer of Marshalltown; one brother, Ed Williams of Hermitage, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren, Dawn and Shawn Eyestone, Tammy Winburn, and Jonathan, Justin, Joshua, Jessica, Heather, Nicole and Jacob Sadler; and five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Emily and Joslynn Winburn and Ryne and Dylan Eyestone.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her adopted parents; her husband, Robert; one daughter, Vickie Sadler; two sons, Everett Ray and Clint Sadler; one sister, Lois Allbee and one brother, Keith Williams.
