MRS. CEASER RITES TUESDAY

Margaret J. Ceaser, 98, of Gilman died Friday, Jan. 25, at St. Francis Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry D. Cassiday of the Gilman Community United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Garden, Marshalltown.

Memorials in Mrs. Ceaser's name may be made to the St. Francis Manor Activity Fund.

The daughter of Archibald and Margaret Jane McCulloch Owens, she was born on Jan. 17, 1887, in Lisnahill, Broughshane, Ballymena, County Antrum, North Ireland. She was married to Samuel Ceaser in Ballymena on Nov. 19, 1907.

The couple moved to New York City in 1910. They lived at Wilkensburg, Pa., and Detroit, Mich., before moving to the Gilman area in 1916. They farmed near Laurel, Newburg and Gilman before retiring in 1948 and moving into Gilman.

Mrs. Ceaser was a longtime member of the Gilman Commmunity United Church of Christ.

She is survived by her children, Samuel J. Ceaser of Grinnell, Dorothy E. Reimer of Knoxville, and Harold O. Ceaser of Altoona; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Hugh; one daughter, Margaret Jane; two brothers and three sisters.
