JERRY WISGERHOF

Jerry G. Wisgerhof, 58, of Urbandale, formerly of the Laurel area, died of cancer Saturday, July 13, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Urbandale, with burial in Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines. The family will be present at Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Memorial contributions in Mr. Wisgerhof's name may be made to Children's Habilitation Center, 5900 Pioneer Parkway, Johnston, Iowa 50131.

He was the son of Tunis and Edna Amelia Miller Wisgerhof and was born Jan. 12, 1938, in Marshalltown. He was raised on the family farm near Laurel and was 1956 graduate of Laurel High School. He received a B.A. degree in business administratiion from Simpson College, Indianola.

On July 22, 1958, he was married to Joyce Rankin in Gilman. They lived in Des Moines where he was an executive with The Principal Financial Group. Prior to his death he was vice president and treasurer of Principal Mutual Life Insurance Co. The couple moved to Urbandale in 1972.

Mr. Wisgerhof was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He was a fellow of the Life Management Institute and served as treasurer of the Des Moines Chapter of the National Association of Accountants. He was a past member of the American Council of Life Insurance's subcommittee on investment surveys and the Life Office Management Association's Investment Systems Committee. He was also a member of the Iowa Treasury Cash Management Association and the Treasury Management Association.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Jeff of Dallas Center, Greg of Omaha, Neb., and Timothy of New York City; three grandchildren; his mother; one brother, Edward of Cedar Rapids; and two sisters, Dorothy Billman of State Center and Jean Mallechek of Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father.
