IS RE-UNITED WITH HUSBAND

Mrs. Nelson Frost Died Tuesday Just One Week After Death of Mr. Frost.

FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD ON THURSDAY.

Associates of Councilman Frost in City Administration Were Pall Bearers.

It seems somewhat sad that following the death of former Councilman Nelson Frost, who passed away Tuesday, March 16, his wife should die in so short a space of time afterwards. Mrs. Frost was not well during the latter part of her husband's illness and was unable to attend the funeral. She died Tuesday, March 23rd, at eleven o'clock A.M. just one week after the death of her husband, and of the same disease.

Abigail Sparks was born near Franklin, Johnson County, Ind., July 30, 1851. She came to Iowa fifty six years ago and on Nov. 28, 1884, she was united in marriage with Nelson Frost to whom four children were born and are living, Mrs. Rosa Playle of Grinnell; Mrs. J.E. Clifford of Grinnell; Mrs. Lizzie Hoffman of Toledo, Ohio, and Clark Frost of Grinnell. She was also the mother of four other children by former marriages, Squire Sloan of Grinnell, Tommy Sloan of Grinnell, Billie Leggins of Moscow and George Leggins of Ellphant, George who died four years ago. There are also five brothers and two sisters to survive her: Edward, Barton, and Crawford Sparks of this city, William Sparks of Marshalltown and Andrew Sparks of Lexington, Ind., and Mrs. Luana Skeels of Des Moines and Mrs. Catherine McDonald of Big Sandy, Mont.

Mrs. Frost, in the fifty-six years which she has lived in Grinnell and vicinity, has been a quiet, modest, industrious woman looking after her home with real interest and with care. The family were intensely devoted to each other and she gave all her strength, more than she was able, during the illness of her late husband to add to his ease and comfort as he lay on the sick bed. The task was too much for her and immediately after his death she herself was confined to her bed and finally gave up her life as the result of her devotion and care.

The funeral was held at the Friends Church Thursday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. A.J. Fryhoff. Rev. Robert Lincoln offered prayer and also made a few appropriate remarks. There were two songs, duets, by Mrs. Richards and Mrs. Fryhoff, Mrs. Richards accompanying on the piano. There were, "We are going down the valley" and "By faith I can see that beautiful land." The bearers were members of the City Council, with one exception the same as assisted at the funeral services of her husband only a few days ago. They were Councilmen Alley, Corrough, Jantzen, and McIlrath, City Clerk Lowrey and Mayor Ray. Burial was made beside her husband in Hazelwood.
