JACK MALLOY

Jack Malloy, 74, of Deep River died Jan. 24, 2000 at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

The body has been cremated and no services are planned. Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Malloy was born July 13, 1925 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Ernest D. and Zelpha Malloy. On July 8, 1944 he married Betty Freeborn in New Sharon. The couple had six children.

The Malloys lived most of their lives in Montezuma before retiring to Missouri and then to Deep River.

Mr. Malloy served in the army during World War II. He worked as a truck driver and was a member of the Teamsters Union.

He belonged to the Grinnell Eagles Lodge and the V.F.W. Post No. 8876 in Montezuma.

Mr. Malloy was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Jackie Griffith and a brother Billy.

He is survived by his wife, Betty of Deep River; son Dan Malloy of Montezuma; four daughters: Hettie Maschmann of Mount Pleasant, Pat Davis of New Sharon, Tina Wiegand and Cara Breese both of Montezuma; 12 grandchildren; three great grandsons; one brother, Edwin Malloy of Rose Hill; two sisters, Donna Woods of New Sharon and Neva Rassman of Maquoketa.

He is also survived by a stepmother, Audrey Malloy of Cedar Rapids; three half sisters, Diane Winfield of Altamonte Springs, Fla., Linda Farquar of Marion and Marilyn Malloy of Cedar Rapids; and other relatives and many friends.
