J.R. ORCUTT OF SEARSBORO IS CALLED BY DEATH

Searsboro (Special)

Searsboro was again shrouded in mourning by the death of J.R. Orcutt, who had been its genial hardward man for 33 years. Mr. Orcutt was born in Sheridan township May 9, 1884, and passed away March 15, 1940, aged 55 years, 10 months, and 6 days.

In 1912 he was married to Miss Caroline Hillman. To this union four children were born, Ruth at home, Mrs. Gwendolyn Watson, Doris, a nurse finishing training at the Deaconess hospital in Marshalltown and Clark at home. There are two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday from the home conducted by Rev. W.S. Kight of Des Moines, an old family pastor and friend, assisted by Miss Lee. Misses Pearl Visser and Myrtle Lee sang, with Mrs. Bowen at the piano. Burial was in the family lot in the Sheridan cemetery.
