MRS. OTCHECK RITES TODAY

Eunice Otcheck, 79, of Rte. 1, Grinnell, died Thursday at Grinnell General Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Grinnell United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Roger Gadsden, Tom Good and Marvin Hoeksema officiating. Organist will be Kathleen Heffner, and vocalists will be Gordon Van Donselaar, Elston and Jeralene Renaud, and Tari and Scott Renaud.

Pallbearers will be Norman Graham, Don Hudnutt, Terry Lowry, Roger Moyer, Arnold Ratcliff and Jerry Renaud. Honorary bearers will be Art Adams, Gaylord Dempster, Alvin Fopma, Bernie Fopma, Willie Laymiller, Tom Lowry and Bernard Simmons. Flower bearers will be Vivian Graham and Margaret Morrison.

Burial will be at the Westfield Cemetery south of Grinnell. Memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Friends Church or to Quakerdale and may be sent to the Smith Funeral Home.

The daughter of Joseph and Eliza Allbee Fowler, she was born Sept. 22, 1902, in Poweshiek County. She graduated from Grinnell High School in 1921.

On Feb. 6, 1923, she was married to August F. Otcheck in Grinnell. The couple had two sons, Robert and Arthur. Mr. and Mrs. Otcheck farmed southwest of Grinnell.

She was active in the Oak Grove Friends Church and was treasurer of the Oak Grove Missionary Society. She was also a member of the Westfield Ladies Aid and was the Oak Grove correspondent for The Grinnell Herald-Register for many years.

Survivors include three granddaughters, Margaret Otcheck and Juanita Johnston of Grinnell and Barbara C. Otcheck of Woodward, and a great-granddaughter, Julia Johnston. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her two sons, six sisters and two brothers.
