MORTON M. GREGSON'S FUNERAL SERVICES ARE HELD FRIDAY

Funeral services for Morton M. Gregson were held Friday afternoon from the First Baptist church in charge of the pastor, Rev. Hal Earl Norton. Music was provided by Ross Wyss, who was accompanied by Ed Bohstedt. Pallbearers were Ardie Anderson, Henry Koger, George Board, Tom Godfrey, B.N. Whitaker and C.L. McNally. Interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.

Morton Monroe Gregson, son of Rev. Martin Gregson and Eliza Ann Carpenter Gregson was born in Union township, Poweshiek county on Feb. 23, 1871, and departed this life Nov. 2, 1949, at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 9 days.

He was married Nov. 24, 1892, to Miss Dollie V. Evans of Searsboro. To this union were born five daughters: Pearl (Mrs. William Bitcon); Agnes (Mrs. John Peterson); Helen (Mrs. Harold Dimit); Mrs. Ada Sergeant and Grace, who passed away in 1909 at the age of 12 years.

His boyhood days were spent on a farm in Union township.

In 1900 Mr. Gregson purchased a farm in Washington township where he resided until his retirement in 1920, when he moved to the present home at 931 West St. He was a member of the First Baptist church in Grinnell.

Besides his faithful wife and daughters he leaves to mourn his passing four brothers, L.L. Gregson of Marshaltown, Clarence Gregson of Jeffersonville, Ind., A.B. Gregson of New Sharon and George of Spokane, Wash., and one sister, Mrs. Ray Butler of Ames; five grandsons, one granddaughter and one great granddaughter, several nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
