MRS. SAMUEL MCLAIN DIES IN DEARBORN, MICH.

Word has been received of the death on Sunday morning of Mrs. Samuel McLain at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Boyle in Dearborn, Mich., where she had been making her home for the past three years. The McLain family made their home in Grinnell for many years living in the residence at the corner of Fifth avenue and Park street now occupied by Professor J. Forrest West.

Funeral services, according to present plans, will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the United Presbyterian church in charge of Rev. W.J. Stewart. Burial will be in the Westfield cemetery, beside her husband and a son. Friends may call the Smith funeral home for further particulars.

OBITUARY

MARY MCLEAN

Mrs. Mary Bitcon McLean, died at the home of her daughter, Dorothy in Dearborn, Mich., the morning of June 2, aged 81 years and 16 days.

Mary Bitcon was born in County Down, Ireland, May 16, 1865, where she was married to Samuel McLean Jan. 14, 1884. He died at his home in Grinnell on June 26, 1939.

Soon after the birth of their daughter Minnie they came to the United States. After a short time in Illinois they moved to Grinnell. Ten children grew to maturity in the home. They are: Minnie E. Gilbert, Clarence, Harvey, Harold, Jessie, Isabelle Deford and Dorothy Boyle. Mrs. McLean, by a profession of faith in Jesus became a charter member of the United Presbyterian church in Grinnell. She was a life member of the Women's Missionary society. Her church relationship continued through a period of 44 years.

Funeral services were held in Christ United Presbyterian church under the care of her minister, who was assised by the church quartette. Burial was in the family lot at Westfield, Wednesday afternoon, June 5.

Those from out of town attending the services included Mr. and Mrs. Harvey McLean, Mr. and Mrs. Harold McLean, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell McLean, Gerald McLean, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Tomick, all of Rock Island, Ill.; Mrs. Margaret McLean, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice McLean, all of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Cecille Boyle, and daughter Doris, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Arthur Deford, Bay City, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Wells and Florence Piggert, West Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gilbert and daughters Geraldine, Romona and Ann, Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. William Uhde, Waterloo.
