SERVICES HELD MONDAY FOR ANNA HARDEN, 93-YEAR-OLD LONGTIME RESIDENT HERE

Funeral services for Mrs. John Harden were held Monday, Feb. 3, at the Steffy Funeral Home in Montezuma. The Rev. Martin Gruneich officiated at the 1:30 p.m. service. Miss Alice Underwood was the organist. Casket bearers were Earl Duffus, Ralph Wells, Harold Lofgreen, Ned Alexander, Harold Swanson and Harold Bushong. Interment was in the Masonic IOOF cemetery.

Anna, daughter of Sarah and Levi Ferneau, was born in Malcom, Aug. 28, 1875, and died in Montezuma on Jan. 31, at 93 years of age.

She attended school in Malcom. She was united in marriage with John M. Harden. To this union three children were born. One daughter, Agnes, passed away in childhood. They made their home in Montezuma, where Mr. Harden served as rural mail carrier for 21 years and later was an employee of Standard Oil Company.

Mrs. Harden was a member of the Methodist Church and the Wisner Circle of the G.A.R.

After the death of Mr. Harden in 1933, she maintained her home as long as her health permitted. For the past 14 years she has been cared for in a local nursing home.

She is survived by her daughter, Lenore Frame, and her son, Wendell Harden, both of Des Moines; also six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
