LOIS M. KOGER

Lois M. Koger, 85, of Grinnell died Saturday, June 21, at the Mayflower Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lon L. Lewis, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Pallbearers will be Randy, Rhonda and Tom Gildersleeve, Dennis, Karen and Steve Koger, Teresa Mead; Cindie Schlater; and Dora Spencer. Honorary bearers will be Cal Barnes, Jake Barnes, Glenn Bell, Carl Boget, Dale Emmert, Don Hudnutt, Don Latham and John Rupp.

Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.

The daughter of William B. and Nellie Neville Munford, she was born Aug. 15, 1911, in Burkville, Va. She was raised and educated in the Grinnell and Malcom areas.

She was married to Henry T. Koger June 29, 1952, in Nashua. The couple farmed in Washington Township until moving to Grinnell in 1970.

Mrs. Koger was a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, the Eastern Star, Beta Sigma Phi, the Farm Bureau, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Blue Point Friendship Club.

She is survived by three stepsons, Robert of Everett, Wash., Ralph of Boone and Raymond Koger of Grinnell; one stepdaughter, Marie Gildersleeve of Fennimore, Wis.; two brothers, her twin William Munford of Newton and Edwin Munford of Saco, Maine; five sisters, Virginia Munford, Edith Tucker, Alice Baber, Billie Burton and Lucille Griffin, all of Durham, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Warriner and Ben Munford; and two sisters, May Munford and Ethel Strickland.
