SUGAR CREEK PIONEER DEAD

One of the most respected citizens of Sugar Creek township, John R. Davis, died at his home on May 13, of cancer of the stomach, at the age of sixty-two years, ten months and five days. He leaves a brother, a wife, nine children and six grandchildren to mourn the loss of one who was always kind to all. He was a birthright member of the Friends church. Services were conducted at the Friends church in Searsboro by Rev. Viola Smith and the body was laid to rest in the Lynn Grove cemetery as the deceased had requested. The six eldest sons acted as pall bearers.
