WILLIAM BISWELL

William M. Biswell, son of William and Elizabeth Biswell, was born Oct. 25, 1857, at Unionville, Missouri. He died May 5, 1957, in Walnut Grove, Minn., at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Phillips, having reached the age of 99 years, six months and ten days.

On Oct. 25, 1877, he was married to Nancy Belle Stevens at Cinoba, Missouri. They lived for a time in Missouri, and then moved to Ida Grove, Iowa and then to Grinnell, Iowa. In 1917 they came to Minnesota, which has since been his home. His wife died in 1933.

Mr. Biswell is survived by his four daughters: Mrs. J.L. Phillips of Walnut Grove, Mrs. Beatrice Burnett of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Leona Lewis of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mrs. Fred Clausen of San Francisco, Calif. There are 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

His three sons preceded him in death. They were Russell L. Biswell of Los Angeles, George of Fennimore, Wis., and Oscar of St. Louis. Funeral rites and burial were at Walnut Grove cemetery.
