LOIS ARVIDSON RITES TUESDAY

Lois Arvidson, 79, died Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Mayflower Home in Grinnell.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home in Brooklyn, with the Rev. Lynn Williams of the First United Presbyterian Church officiating. Organist was Sybil Kelley, and vocalist was Roger Kendall. Pallbearers were Brent Arvidson, Brad Arvidson, Rodney Arvidson, Roger Hall, Cam Dhooge, and Brian Worthy. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brooklyn.

The daughter of Cass L. and Rosa Bell Wood Hall, she was born July 19, 1905 in Brooklyn. Her mother died of childbirth complications and she was raised by her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Hall. She graduated from Brooklyn High School in 1925, then taught school until her marriage.

She was married to Oscar Emil Arvidson on Jan. 15, 1929. They farmed near Brooklyn except for four years when they lived in Montezuma.

Mrs. Arvidson was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, the UPW, the Social Circle Club, and the American Legion Auxiliary, of which she was a Gold Star mother.

She is survived by her husband, Emil of Rte. 1, Brooklyn; one son, Ronald of Malcom; two daughters, Donna Roche of Eureka, Calif., and Carolyn Weisskopf of Grinnell; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Keith.
