FRED J. LIDTKA SUCCUMBS; RITES SET WEDNESDAY

Mr. Fred J. Lidtka, of Route 1, Malcom, died suddenly Sunday evening at a local hospital fol-

He was born December 27, 1886 on the homeplace in Sheridan Township, the son of Lawrence and Fredericka Schultz Lidtka. He attended the Sheridan No. 8 School and made his home on the farm of his family.

On January 12, 1910, he was united in marriage with Nora Ellen Baustian. To this union were born three children: Earl Loren Lidtka of RR 3, Grinnell; Eldon Henry Lidtka, who passed away in September of 1952; and Mrs. Charles (Nola) Dillon of Rt. 1, Malcom.

In addition to his son and daughter, he is survived by 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and two sisters: Mrs. Fred Mithelman of Grinnell, and Mrs. J.C. Deedrick of Malcom. Mr. Lidtka was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Nora, on September 1, 1957; his son Eldon; and two brothers, Joseph and Louis.

A lifelong resident of Sheridan Township, Mr. Lidtka had been a director of Sheridan No. 8 school, and a director of the Northwestern Malcom Phone Company. He held lifelong membership in Trinity American Lutheran Church, where he received baptism and confirmation.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church north of Malcom, with the Pastor, Rev. Fred Peters, officiating. Mr. Lidtka's body will rest in state at the homeplace, the home of Mrs. Charles Dillon, from Tuesday through Wednesday morning.

Friends may call at the home Tuesday. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. For further information, friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home.
