HARRY A. KENT

Harry A. Kent, 69, a former resident of Brooklyn, died Monday morning in the Poweshiek County Care Facility in Montezuma where he was a resident.

He was born December 7, 1908, in Madison Twp., Poweshiek Co., Iowa, the son of Bailey and Nancy J. Brown Kent. He was united in marriage to Helen Margaret Rose Huck Morgan Feb. 28, 1944, in Montezuma. Mr. Kent lived most of his life in the Brooklyn area except for a time when he lived in Tama. He became a resident of the Poweshiek County Care Facility in November of 1977.

Mr. Kent is survived by one son, Harold of Brooklyn; a daughter Nancy White of Oceanside, Calif.; a brother, Charles B. Kent of Cedar Rapids; two step-sons, Bob Huck of Florida and Don Huck of Chicago, Ill.; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife who died in 1973, a daughter, and several brothers.

Funeral services were to be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday in the Nevenhoven Funeral Home. Rev. Fred Pierce, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church, officiated. The organist was Mrs. Ed Bartachek. Casketbearers were Robert McCulley, Keith Taggatz, Marvin Waline, Wayne Bacon, Ralph Brown and Louis Swain. Interment was in the Kent Cemetery, north of Brooklyn.
