HILDA HALL

Hilda Hall, 80, of Malcom died April 6, 1978 at Grinnell General hospital.

She was the daughter of William and Matilda Reimers Baltisberger and was born July 12, 1897 north of Malcom. She attended rural school near her family farm.

On April 2, 1918, she was married to Russell C. Hall at Malcom. Following their marriage, they farmed near Brooklyn and later operated produce stations at Montezuma and Blairstown. In 1935, the couple moved to Malcom and operated the Phillip's 66 gas station there. Following her husband's death in 1951, Mrs. Hall was employed with the Malcom school lunch program and later with the Guy Cooper produce company. She was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran church near Malcom.

She is survived by two brothers: Harvey B. Baltisberger, Marshalltown, and Carl O. Balistberger, Des Moines, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and an infant brother.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday at the Malcom First United Presbyterian church with the Rev. Gerald F. Brown, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran church, officiating. Organist was Mrs. Joan Schneekloth. Pallbearers were Ronald Baltisberger, Wilbur Baltisberger, Lloyd D. Hall, Norman Reedy, Max Olson, and Franklin Reimers. Burial was in Ivy Hill Cemetery at Malcom with the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell in charge of arrangements.
