GEORGE LUNDY GONE--HAD BEEN
SERIOUSLY ILL FOR MONTHS
BURIED SATURDAY

George Lundy was born in England in 1835 in the city of Hull. He died at the home of his son in Malcom, March 30, 1916, after an extended period of declining health.

The most of his youth was spent in England after which he came to America. He was married in 1861 to Miss Hannah Anderson. To this union was born thirteen children, ten of whom preceded him to the other world. The three surviving children are Mr. George T. Lundy, Agnes Lundy, and William Lundy, who resides in Des Moines.

Mr. Lundy moved to this country in 1880, and his wife passed away on Apri1, 1889. In 1891 Mr. Lundy was united in marriage to Mary Koester, who preceded him in death, passing away on Decemer 25, 1899.

Mr. Lundy united with the Methodist church in 1915. His failing health kept him from attendance to the day of his death. Besides his three children he leaves to mourn his loss eleven grandchildren and eighty-two great grandchildren, besides a host of friends.

Those from a distance in attendance at the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Woods from Marshalltown, Mr. and Mrs. McGee from Brooklyn, Mrs. Frank Short and daughter from Grinnell, and Mr. and Mrs. William Lundy of Des Moines.

The funeral services were held in the M.E. Church Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. W.A. Smith officiating. Interment was in the Malcom cemetery.
