HARVEY WOODLE
Harvey Mills Woodle, son of Robert Vance Woodle and Clara Stella Barber Woodle, was born July 9, 1887, at Brooklyn and died Sept. 14, 1966, in Veterans hospital at Iowa City. He was one of eleven children and had lived in this vicinity all of his life. He attended schools in this area and worked as a day laborer and for the railroad.
He was a World War I veteran and was discharged Sept. 12, 1918. On Sept. 9, 1959, he married Dora Haines Lundy.
Survivors include his widow, Dora; two brothers, Roy of Council Bluffs and Carl of Brooklyn; and a sister, Mrs. Eva Coleman of Victor.
Last rites were conducted Sept. 17 at two o'clock at Bramer Funeral Home in charge of Rev. C.W. Woollard, pastor of Grace Methodist church. Mrs. Ed Bartachek was organist.
Burial was in I.O.O.F. cemetery where military rites were accorded by Francis Gallagher post of the American Legion. Legionnaires serving as pallbearers were Evan Johnston, Paul Paynter, Miles Clayton, James Plants, Ernest Andes and William Benda. Flower attendants were Mrs. Ed Burk and Mrs. Ada Wenger.
