KENSINGER FUENRAL AT MADISON CHURCH

Funeral services for Friend E. Kensinger, 85, who had lived on a farm four miles west of Brooklyn for more than 56 years, will be held this afternoon (Thursday) at the Madison Church of Christ. The family requests memorials be given to the Madison church.

Robert W. Seath, minister, will officiate at the two o'clock services. Mrs. Jack Lang will be organist. Interment will be in the Sheridan cemetery with Merle Kensinger, Donald Kensinger, Paul Jantzen, Verner Bolen, Garland Lamb and Leslie Mehlin serving as pallbearers. Flower attendants are Mrs. Leslie Lamb and Mrs. Verner Bolen.

Friend Elery Kensinger, son of Christopher and Marcia Ann Wood Kensinger, was born Oct. 2, 1879, on a farm ten miles north of Brooklyn in Madison township. He was the fourth oldest of a family of 11 children, six boys and five girls.

Mr. Kensinger had been in comparatively good health until about a month ago when he entered Mercy hospital in Iowa City where he died May 24, 1965.

He was married to Sadie Rachel Lamb on January 27, 1909, at the home of her parents, four miles north of Malcom. The couple had lived on the same farm since they were married. He was a member of the Madison Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife; two children, Melvin Kensinger of Princeton, Ill. and Mrs. William (Wanda) Shea of Fresno, Calif.; six grandchildren; a brother, Harry Kensinger of Cedar Rapids, and a sister, Mrs. Lottie Volkmer of Washington, D.C.
