RITES SET FOR BOB STEMSRUD

Bob B. Stemsrud, 39, of 1712 Manor Dr., Grinnell, died early Thursday morning at Veterans Hospital in Iowa City where he had been a patient since June 15, 1973. Mr. Stemsrud had been seriously ill the past two years.

The son of Bert and Betty McKibbin Stemsrud, he was born April 15, 1935, in Grinnell. He was married to Dorothy Griffin on Nov. 19, 1962, in Montezuma. The couple had one son, Curtis W., 9.

Mr. Stemsrud was a veteran of the Korean war. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Kellogg and had been employed by Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance and Farmhand, Inc.

Survivors include his father; his wife; his son; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Stemsrud of Ewart; three half-sisters; and his step-grandfather, Cecil Arthur of Montezuma. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Funeral services for Mr. Stemsrud will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the United Church of Christ-Congregational, with the Rev. John McCallum, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Grinnell United Methodist Church.
