THEODORE RISSE DIES SUDDENLY CHRISTMAS DAY
Theodore H. Risse, 74, died suddenly at his home on Christmas day about 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home.
Officiating at the services will be the Rev. Leland Mann, pastor of the Congregational church. Pallbearers will be Fred Heinle, Ben King, Willard Lillie, Eldon Peterson, Howard Temple and Everett York. Burial will be in Hazelwood cemetery.
Mr. Risse was born in Newburg on May 10th, 1884, the son of Frederick Maurice and Edith M. Schroeder Risse. He was united in marriage to Mary Davidson in Grinnell on Oct. 16th, 1907 and to this union were born six children, four of whom survive: Delmar of Arcadia, Calif.; Mrs. Dathal (Mabel) Adkins of West Des Moines; Walter of Klamath Falls, Ore.; and Arthur of Grinnell.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Alma Steinert of Grinnell.
Mr. Risse had lived in the Grinnell and Newburg area all of his life and was a builder and carpenter by trade. He was a member of the Congregational church and for a time, the Men's Club at the church. Mr. Risse was also a member of the Modern Brotherhood of America.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife in 1934, three brothers and one sister, and his two children, James Roy in infancy and Ted by accident when a young man.
