G.W. HOOVER

Geo. W. Hoover was born in the state of Maryland Oct. 15, 1812, and died in Grinnell, Ia., Jan. 8, 1905, aged 92 years, 2 months and 23 days.

With his parents he moved to Clearfield Co., Pa., and was married there to Mary A. Witters. Of this union twelve children were born, five sons and seven daughters. Mrs. Hoover, four sons and two daughters preceded him in death. The surviving children are J.D. Hoover of Jasper county, Ia., Mrs. E.J. Fister and Mrs. Etta Noel of Grinnell, Mrs. R.A. Starr of Chicago, Mrs. Matilda Oshell of Mill Creek, Pa., and Mrs. C.L. Vanfleet of Waterville Minn. At the time of his death there were within his family thirty-six grandchildren and ninety great grandchildren.

The funeral services were held at the home on west Fourth Ave. on Tues., Rev. J.M. McClelland conducting. Interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.
