FRED WALINE SERVICES HELD

Fred P. Waline, 85, of Guernsey, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the McAninch-Fremming Funeral Home in Victor, with the Rev. James Schutter of the First United Methodist Church of Victor officiating. Organist was Jane Alexander. Pallbearers were Roger Evans, Harlan Heinen, Howard Heinen, Louis Wagner, Gary Waline and Roger Waline. Burial was in Harmony Cemetery near Guernsey.

Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church of Guernsey.

The son of Peter and Lena Mohr Waline, he was born on Aug. 4, 1902, at Victor. He attended Victor and Guernsey schools. On June 11, 1930 he was married to Anna Elizabeth Arnold at Nashua. The couple continued to live in the Guernsey area. Mr. Waline was employed as a carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Anna; two sons, Richard of San Diego, Calif., and Marvin of Brooklyn; three grandchildren; one sister, Dora Roberts of Strathmore, Calif.; and one brother, John of Belle Plaine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.
