PEARL RAUCH

Mrs. Pearl E. Rauch, 95, of Thornburg, died Saturday afternoon, Feb. 3, in the Mahaska County Hospital, Oskaloosa.

Services for Pearl were held at 11 a.m., Feb. 6, in the First Presbyterian Church, Brooklyn. Rev. Aaron Koskamp officiated. The organist was Mrs. Anita Ormiston. Vocal selections were by Teresa Clubb, Sheila Clubb, Cheryl Carnahan and Lisa Clemens. Casket-bearers were William Earl Clemens Jr., Scott Robertson, Timothy Clemens, Steven P. Heck, Diane Urfer and Sonya Heck. Interment was in the Brooklyn Cemetery.

The Nevenhoven Funeral Home of Brooklyn was in charge of arrangements.

Pearl Elizabeth Provin Rauch, daughter of Ulysses Grant Provin and Emma Belle West Provin was born March 11, 1900, near Montezuma.

Her family moved near Guernsey where she attended school through the 10th grade. On Nov. 11, 1919, she was married to William Fred Rauch in the home of her parents. Following their marriage they lived at Victor, Guernsey and Thornburg where they operated a grocery store, Brooklyn where they operated a restaurant, and Newton where Mrs. Rauch worked for Maytag. Mr. Rauch died in June of 1947 and since 1958 she lived with her daughter Fern.

Mrs. Rauch was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn, Pythian Sisters, Rebekahs, and Royal Neighbors of America.

Surviving are her daughter, Marie Fern Clemens of Thornburg; her sister, Mrs. Opal Morrison of Brooklyn; five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Rauch was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Irma Urfer; five brothers, Clarence, Clyde, Roy, Elwood, and Walter Provin; and one grandson, William Earl Clemens Sr.
