ALLAN W. MEYER DIES AT HOSPITAL

Allan W. Meyer, age 42, of 1014 Center St., died Sunday, Dec. 5, shortly after admission at Grinnell General Hospital.

The son of Henry and Mary Blanche Haynes Meyer, Mr. Meyer was born on Feb. 20, 1929 in the rural community west of Grinnell. He received his education in the rural schools and was a graduate of the Grinnell high school. He was a lifelong member of the Grinnell community.

Mr. Meyer married Eileen Case on July 10, 1965 at the Chester Congregational church.

He was employed by the Amana Refrigeration Co. of Amana.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen; his two children--Karen Sue and Richard Allan; two brothers--Wesley and Clifton Meyer, both of Grinnell, and five sisters--Mrs. Howard (Eva) Young of Grinnell, Mrs. Beatrice Ingraham of Laurel, Mrs. Naomi Gropper of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Don (Maxine) Crossett of Fort Monroe, Va., and Mrs. Rex (Helen) Hall of Newton.

Mr. Meyer was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lyle.

Funeral services for Mr. Meyer will be held Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 1:30 p.m. at the Malcom Presbyterian church.

The Rev. Austin G. Rugger will officiate and interment will be in the Sheridan Cemetery.

Friends may call at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home until 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday and thereafter at the church.

Vocalist will be Marilyn Stahl and organist, Joan Schneekloth. Serving on the flower committee will be Mrs. Harry Kingsley and Wayne Gropper.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Gropper, Harry Kingsley, Kenneth Iske, Bill Dimit, Joe Buffum and Richard Claussen. Honorary pallbearers will be Clair Strand, Shirley Puls, Verle Scribner and Robert Strawser.
