MARGARET E. HEISHMAN, 94

Mrs. Margaret E. Heishman, 94, of Brooklyn, died Sunday, March 10, at Friendship Manor Care Center, Grinnell.

Funeral services for Margaret Heishman were held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 14, at Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn. Rev. David Rogula officiated. Casket-bearers were Tim Heishman, Djorn Buchholz, Steve Heishman, Nathan Hopwood, Kevin Heishman, Derek Hiner and Fred Morris. Interment was in Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established. Nevenhoven Funeral Services, Brooklyn, was in charge of arrangements.

Margaret Ethel Ostrom Heishman, daughter of Fred Ostrom and Maria Houseman Ostrom, was born January 12, 1908, near Hartwick, Iowa. Margaret graduated from the Hartwick High School in 1925. On January 12, 1926, she was married to Delmar Phillip Heishman at Grinnell. They farmed around Brooklyn, Guernsey and Deep River. They retired in 1972 and moved into Brooklyn. Mrs. Heishman then worked for a while at Brookhaven Nursing Home.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn, Rebekahs, Gleeful Workers Club and CWW. Margaret's sense of humor and outlook on life were an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

Surviving are four sons, Darrell of Brooklyn, Maynard of Brooklyn, Richard and his wife, Mary Jo, of Hastings, Neb. and Virgil and his wife, Mary Jane, of Brooklyn; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.

Her husband; six sisters, Hazel Blankenship, Marjorie Chess, Edna Ryan, Dorothy Smith, Mildred Bees, and Nellie Harris; three brothers, Jim Ostrom, George Ostrom, and Charles Ostrom; and one great grandson, Adam Marmurek preceded her in death.
